Given the sheer scale of what they've done, I don't a mere fine and points deduction/relegation to the Championship really touches the sides. My own non-Premier club nearly went out of existence and is still under years of punishments for far less than this but we're not a football cash-cow I guess.

Only due to the statute of limitations in the UEFA rules. Some of the evidence was no longer admissible because they dragged it out for so long. That doesn't apply to the Premier League rules.

That’s not true. We had a supervisor appointed by the league approving our transfers and books and our own accountants noticed a discrepancy in what losses we wrote off and what we were actually allowed to write off and they brought it up to said supervisor who brought it to the league. Are you expected to play fair when rules are unfair? I don't particularly think so. Do I think what City did is ok? no. Do I think this is some grand attack on the sanctity of fairness in football? no. This is nothing more than a geopolitical fuckery. The fairness in football has been dead for ages now.

Just a 60 point deduction would be ridiculous and would mean they effectively get away with it. It might not even relegate them this season and worse case scenario they would be back in a year. The punishment needs to be massive with repercussions across multiple seasons.

FFP isn't a rule that is designed for a level playing field though? It's not like the NFL or NBA salary cap, which is universal and the same. It literally accepts an uneven playing field

Yeah my assumption was that if they were cheating in 2018 then the titles that came after were also won by cheating. I have no idea if that's how it would be seen though

The investigation window was from 09 to the 17/18 season. So if they’re stripped of titles it would be the ones in 2012, 2014 and 2018. Last 5 would remain untouched.
