Your first sentence was saying it would be 10 years before boomers start dying off en masse , not "when is it reasonable for someone to expect measurable change and improvements to the nation". I think it's a pretty big jump to assume that boomers dying = improvement to the nation, or at least for that to be assumed as some consensus. Regardless…

I’d hardly agree when I can have Claude automate most of what “skilled” workers do. That’s why I don’t really consider them skilled. We’re doing that at my company today. We’ve seen massive increase in productivity. Anyways my point is that the existing “skilled worker” when Ai can do their job is no longer skilled. It’s a job that’s no longer…

You still need to get a certain amount of income for this, and it's not COVID era anymore, not many local companies okay with you heading off to work remote in Spain. You should probably offer up more details on your friends experience, the visa might've been easy to get but your friends situation with work is most relevant. I don't know why…
-
Some people want to move countries and change careers at the same time. Most existing work visa arrangements are tied to specific industries and/or the specific employer. It absolutely does not compare to intra-Schengen mobility, and the vast majority of employers prefer candidates who are already eligible to work without requiring employment visa…

"Canada’s labour market lost 68,000 jobs in September, driven by losses in public sectors." People on here, from what I've read, seem to think the public sector has grown too much too fast. I'm assuming you're not one of these people and are cool with the size of government? Because you can't have it both ways.

Carney better be hoping that the Senate fixes or even kills his bill C-22 legislation, as it'll significantly harm trade between Canada and the EU. No EU company that cares about privacy is going to want to invest in a country that has passed laws that are illegal to follow in the EU.
-
I think the approach is to engage more with other markets, and let this problem figure itself out. Doesn't change the fact he promised a deal, an even better deal, and hasn't delivered. That's called lying. Under what time frame do you expect things to actually turn around?
-
Yeah it’s true, but a ton of people are already getting more than the minimum. Quebec is proposing a 3 week minimum, but it won’t even affect provincial employees because they start at 4. And even a lot of private sector workers have generous vacation packages.
-
'We will get an even better deal,' Carney says after Oval Office meeting with Trump "As we speak, our team is negotiating. This is not just words. We will get a deal."
-
To the carney supporters here, how do you feel about his announcement to increase immigration and now giving young people freedom of movement rights? Won't this screw over young Canadians?
-
Nobody is against diversification. But if they are unable to get a free trade agreement fully ratified, hopes are low for whatever they are trying to do here.
-
because it's angering that Carney and the EU have been working on this deal for a year and a half, and haven't given us any concrete details.
-
He indeed had Irish citizenship as well. He gave up both his EU and UK citizenship to enter politics. Not that it should matter.

These people are turning our countries into mere "economic development zones" as fast as they can.
