"We replaced our world-renowned search engine with a shitty version that's more expensive to run and nobody wanted, how could our shares tumble."

Is there 10% a year growth on their current level of revenue? Is Waymo ever going to be that big? You don't have any idea what you're talking about. You're naming a handful of tiny plays relative to their current business models. Nothing they've got coming is going to sustain the growth rate that their valuation demands long term. They don't need…

Almost like making your search engine, web apps, and phone products pieces of shit for no apparent reason is a bad idea.

In the context of the ai trade, they’re both hardware and model servicer. That’s my point model servicer’s aren’t making much money, if not losing a ton. So they need to be differentiated. Cloud is ultimately hardware. Sure, it’s a cash cow on paper, but cash flow has collapsed and that depreciation will hit eventually, I still think it’s a…

Stop relying on Google Search. Switch to Brave Search and keep Google as a backup. Break Google's grip on how we access information. No tech giant should have so much power over what we see, what gets promoted, and what gets buried. Take back control of your searches!

It’s a great opportunity to see how irrational people are as Alphabet reported a 12% revenue growth rate compare to the previous quarter which it was 16% due to foreign exchange of currencies lost, and to the comparison of the quarter of the World Cup earnings to a quarter without the biggest sports and advertising event in the world in four…

There's a vindictive part of my brain saying I should just mass search things to help drain their accounts further but I can't stomach using AI on purpose

Bots earn music artists money....fraudulent. bots earn big tech money....business. there are tons of videos on how bot networks can be woken up, given a prompt and run propaganda and smear campaigns. There are videos about dynamic pricing. There are plenty of resources that can enlighten you on how these big companies rip you off, and arent afraid…

No worries. They’ve already pivoted. There’s trillions in the military-industrial complex for genocidal surveillance capitalism.

People don't know these business jargon phrases. Even things like "revenue". Is that cash coming in annually? Their total historical income? "Do not have the capacity to fulfill" - fulfil what? "Unrecognize"? "Realization"? "Add"? If you want to ELI5 to people you'd need to break it down into things like, "Someone has promised to pay them X when Y…

maybe writing a bot that crunches hardware into copying Reddit posts was not the best idea?

The thing I don't understand is that it COSTS MONEY. It is not even enshittification. Why push something that: Nobody wants Performs worse Costs money Does not improve value Does not provide an environmental or societal benefit Shouldn't at least one of these be false? At least one?

Google has been ignoring search operators (when convenient or otherwise) for 10+ years

It's already started ...big crash happened in China...largely unknown in the west... Investors not sure from where Trillion dollar investment would be recovered so jobs losses will accelerate...to justify the Investment on AI...

I think it’s the leopard eating its own face, in this case

I agree. The numbers aren't bad. They have a few problems, like search is their main product which may be slowing, but they still have cloud, Waymo, Youtube, the Google name and bank account, great management. I'm not selling.
-
No one asked them to do that besides investors.

And when you search for anything, it shows you unrelated products thanks to advertising. I'm in advertising and the consumers aren't getting what they want. So ads don't have the same effect. You just skip over them

Me too! I deleted all Google from my phone months ago. Sick of having AI forced on me. Sick of the world having hyperscale data centres forced on it. I’d be happy if all AI, other than for basic, useful, legitimate tasks, was destroyed and never seen again. Its creators are mad men.

They stop carrying about their core customers. They seem to mostly hire foreign. They wont backtrack on ANYTHING. They use are data in creepy ways. They gatekeep fiercely. No one i know cares about google anymore.

Search works best when AI summaries complement strong source links, clear citations, and easy ways to verify the original material. Better discovery should make trustworthy information easier to reach. #AI #Search

Tech companies are all major users of Google enterprise. Add to this, all of its cloud office offerings expose APIs, making it easy for agents to work with. Microsoft still does not afaik.
