Multiple commenters criticized the platform for not banning AI content outright and for allowing such a buildup to occur. Several argued for default filtering options or blanket bans to prevent future accumulation.
“You know you could just make it easier for yourselves amd just have a blanket ban on AI generated games and assets period right?”

Looks like they answered that. Not a no-AI policy, just a no-spam policy. They won't ban AI slop outright.
-
Big steps, but still hosting the 2026 Epic AI Megajam slopfest game jam though

It would be entrapment… but funny as hell if everyone participating just gets a lifelong ban.

I am so pleased someone posted this ahead of me

Alas… that one’s out of their control. Unless everyone who makes an adult game doesn’t require itch to have a payments processor… (Who are the ones we should actually be yelling at.)
-
You know you could just make it easier for yourselves amd just have a blanket ban on AI generated games and assets period right? (I know the person managing this is just a person working under itch and not the ceo themselves but I felt the need to say it.)

Remonetize adult works and you'll be on a roll babyyy <3
-
knowing itch, i am sure they never wanted to delist them. the payment providers are the ones holding them at gunpoint, they lose either way
-
Hear me out: delete the rest. Human-made weird stuff OR BUST
-
good now delete the other several hundred terabytes you've happily allowed on there for years
-
Now there's a couple terabytes of room for good stuff, right on.

What I mean is that the moment you do anything, they see it in a cynical and absolute way. If you take care of your health, they throw it in young people's faces that they're privileged, when J.K. Rowling has more years of life than I do. It's an example, it's not exact, but you get it, right?
-
Always carrying the same crap, seriously, it wears you down. They just don't get it. It's sick, and it's not funny. Everyone worries about J.K. Rowling, but she's the one pointing fingers at today's youth — and she gets offended so easily. I don't want to generalize.

Given your track record I'm gonna bet most of it was games with computer controlled characters
