My time came when someone asked me about flat leaf vs curly leaf parsley.

My grandmother’s homemade bread and butter pickles tasted like summer. They are for lunch with crackers, grilled cheese, and tomato soup. Dills are for hamburgers, etc. they are different foods.

I worked at a kosher deli/bakery in high-school way back in the '70s. They made their own pickles. Each table had a basket of their rolls, (pumpernickel, rye and white) butter and a bowl of sliced up pickles. Omg, I loved that place!! The pickles were fresh, crisp, slightly garlicky and nummy!

My aunt’s potato salad recipe requires candied dill pickles, which have all but vanished. Sweet gherkins are a pale sub but the closest thing I’ve found.

Well, despite having already brushed my teeth, I’ve been forced by my very genetic makeup and upbringing to go and grab a couple of kosher sours to nibble on while doom scrolling before bed. Thanks. (Not sure if I mean that facetiously or not, flip a coin). :)
