  The iPhone 18 Pro/ iPhone 18 Pro Max will likely come in at only $100 higher than the phones they are replacing, so Apple is clearly eating a lot of the memory shortage cost increases here. Google and Samsung also both raised prices by $100.

  Nope they will raise prices. Just like NVIDIA raised prices on their GPUs. Apple will possibly even cut memory on their mid range models and claim some sort of AI optimisation of memory feature, that the press will lap up.
